Pengaruh Teknik Puzzle Games terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Siswa Kelas Bawah di MI Syuhada’ Banjaragung Puri Kabupaten Mojokerto
The ability to read is the basis for mastering various fields of science. Mastery of reading from an early age is expected to support reading skills at the next level. But many of the students in the early grades still did not master reading skills. This study aims to (1) Improve the initial reading skills of lower class students through the application of Puzzle media in learning. (2) To find out the effectiveness of learning media by using the Puzzle Games technique on reading skills in lower class students at MI Syuhada, Banjaragung, Puri Mojokerto Regency 2018/2019 academic year totaling 132 students. This research was carried out with a simple random sampling process, the method used was by drawing where the results were obtained as follows, students in grades 1A and 2B as the experimental class and classes 1B and 2A as the control class. This type of research is quantitative research using the quasy experiment method. Data obtained through pretest and posttest in the form of oral tests in the form of interviews and observations, then analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results of the study on students' reading interest showed that (1) there was an increase in the average questionnaire score of 2.4 from the average results of the pretest score of 7.72 to 10.12 at the posttest. (2) there are differences in the average results of the posttest questionnaire score of 1.49 from the experimental class which is 13.5 for the control class, which is 12.93. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the application of learning models using puzle media in improving reading skills in lower class students at MI Syuhada, Banjaragaung, Puri District, Mojokerto Regency.
