Community Empowerment in the Form of Clean Waste Action to Realize Healthy and Clean Villages

Abstrak

Pager Village is one of the villages located inPurwosari District, Pasuruan Regency, East Java Province. Pager Village has recently been in the process of heading towards a clean environment. Pager Village will be an example for other hamlets in an effort to improve the quality of a clean environment. The obstacle faced by the people of Pageer Village is the lack of motivation and awareness about the importance of environmental cleanliness. Solutions that can be done to overcome these obstacles by holding a socialization of community empowerment movements in the form of clean waste actions to realize healthy and clean villages and maintain them through the cleanest RT competition. The purpose of this program is to empower the community in instilling public awareness and concern and being directly involved in conditioning the environment through related programs. The method used is to collect data through direct observation in the surrounding environment by paying attention to the amount of plastic waste transported and maintaining cleanliness throughout the day.

The result of this community empowerment program is that Pager Village can improve the level of cleanliness of its environment and maintain and even develop it. The results of monitoring and evaluation show that the community empowerment movement in the form of clean waste actions to realize healthy and clean villages improves environmental cleanliness and health in the environment. In addition, through the competition which was participated by all RT and the awards received, pager village community is committed to making continuous efforts from the community empowerment movement program in the form of clean waste action to realize healthy and clean villages.
